Cape Zampa, also known as Bolo Point, boasts a lighthouse (supposedly built by the U.S. military but I haven't yet confirmed that factoid) and wondrous cliffs, where many fishermen set up to lure fish in the sea hundreds of feet below. Amazingly the cliffs flatten out in the area just south of the cape which is located on Route 6 in Yomitan Village. Try to get there before 5 pm when the lighthouse closes as it affords an incredible view of the East China Sea.

A number of people, including a couple of U.S. Marines as recently as the spring of 2002, have been swept out to sea during typhoons and storms from the rocks directly below the lighthouse which is incredible, considering the distance from the height of the cliffs situated in front of Bolo Point's lighthouse to the ocean below.
